Worldwide proudly presents the OMOTENASHI Runners™ Project,
from Imperial Palace Runners to the “OMOTENASHI Runners™”.

The OMOTENASHI Runner Association of Japan has initiated the training project of “OMOTENASHI Runners™,” who can act as casual guides or tour guides with the mindset of “Omotenashi” that is the pride of Japanese hospitality for foreign tourists who visit near the Imperial Palace, toward the year of 2020 and beyond.

The Imperial Palace is the center of the Tokyo Metropolitan City as well as one of the sightseeing spots that is crowded with people regardless of the season.
The “Imperial Palace Runners™” who are actually running around the Imperial Palace currently, will be upgraded to offer hospitality to tourists visiting Japan.
This is the “OMOTENASHI Runners™ Project.”

Just as you can appreciate wines via a good sommelier, or wine steward, having people available that have extensive knowledge of the Imperial Palace area that receives so many tourists every year, as well as local issues, sightseeing spots, gourmet foods, or just about walking and running around the Palace, is indispensable. Such guides can casually and kindly tell tourists about the information, and if tourists armed with a map or mobile phone can easily communicate with such guides, their experience will be that much more memorable.
These are the “OMOTENASHI Runners™” who act as guides or tour guides.

This training project is a collaborative project with the Hanzomon Runners’ Satellite JOGLIS* as well as the facilities supporting runners who run around the Imperial Palace and the local merchants’ association.
After the training, the “OMOTENASHI Runners™” as volunteer guides welcome and offer hospitality to tourists visiting the Imperial Palace and the area around it, regardless of whether they are foreigners or Japanese.
The OMOTENASHI Runners™ will form in 2016.
You are in for a treat.
